Dear Friends,
As this year comes to a close, it is always good to reflect on what has been learned and what has been accomplished. As we look back over 2016, we are encouraged by all that has been going on at YWAM-Heredia.
Our schools have been to five countries; Uganda, South Sudan, Kenya, Chile and Argentina ~ taking the message of salvation and teaching sustainable development. Many lives have been changed and communities have been empowered by their lives and message.
We traveled to New Zealand, for the first time, to staff a RescueNet training course. Donna really enjoyed that trip and seeing wonderful friends there. I led a team to Ghana to build an aquaponics system and a sustainable garden at the city of refuge. We then led a RescueNet outreach here in Costa Rica, which opened the door to do clinics and community development in all 24 indigenous districts. Since then, we have held clinics in 3 other indigenous communities.
We continue to host teams from all around the world. We were especially grateful for all the wonderful Mission Builders who have come to help us. They are a true blessing!
Our daughter and her family finally were able to come visit us ~ they arrived in August to spend six months with us. It has been really nice having them and the grandkids here with us. Her family have never been to Costa Rica, so we have been trying to show them the sites and have some fun while they are with us here.
Our biggest challenge continues to be our car situation. It has been in the shop since May 25th, so we have been without a personal car all this time. It has really hindered our plans in a big way. We have had to completely rebuild the engine. It looks like it might be done this week, so we are really praying for it’s release for our beach vacation. We know this is just part of the battle, but after six months, we are definitely getting a little weary. Please keep us in your prayers!
This was the first time in 8 years that we have had family here to spend both the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with us, so we really enjoyed our time. We are still waiting for our New Year’s vacation to the beach. We hope that you and your families have a great time as you celebrate the holidays.
May God bless you all and have a wonderful New Year!
In His Service,
Terry & Donna Keith
